Preamble.

In recent years many exciting scientific discoveries have been made that have enabled the development of further beneficial applications of homeopathic remediation. As a consequence, the Homeovitality Micro-DNA therapy system has been developed by the merging of scientific discovery, alternative health care technology and the biology of natural super-health. Introduction.

In the absence of pharmacological intervention, biological and psychological changes involving disease resolution and promotion of disease symptoms (as in the proving process and aggravations) must be driven by activation (or deactivation) of specific genes that synthesise the gene products ( hormones, enzymes, neurotransmitters and inflammatory mediators) that are needed to bring about those changes. For these and other reasons, Prof. Khuda-Bukhsh first proposed in 1997 that some homeopathic substances must have the capacity to interact with the genetic blueprint (1) and deliver their benefits by increasing the expression of genes that synthesise health promoting proteins. Since then, subsequent work by Khuda-Bukhsh and colleagues (2, and within Ref. 2) and other scientists (3, 4) have firmly established that homeopathic substances do have the capacity to do this. For example, using sophisticated molecular biological technologies, Sunila and colleagues (3) have shown that the nosode Carcinosinum can increase expression of the important anti-cancer gene p53 and that extracts of Thuja and Ruta can regulate genetic systems that are involved in slowing down the proliferation or growth of some cancer cells. Similar findings have also been found by Frenkel and colleagues (4) who showed that using in vitro molecular biological technology, Carcinosinum can induce expression of genes that can slow down the proliferation of breast cancer cells.

Interestingly, the results of some of the work by Sunila and colleagues (3) also raise the possibility that the effectiveness of homeopathic remediation may depend on the genetic background of the person being treated. This observation warrants investigation because it may explain why some patients fail to respond to certain homeopathic remedies.

Following the recognition that homeopathic remedies can interact with the genetic blueprint, it becomes important for practitioners to be aware of some of the relationships between genetics and the physical, biological and psychological characteristics or phenotype of an individual.

About human genes in brief.

In recent years, particularly since completion of the Human Genome Project (sequencing of human DNA) there have been major advances in the understanding of the structure and function of human DNA.  For example, scientists have now discovered that human DNA contains a little more that 20,000 genes. Among them are genes that synthesise all the proteins that are needed to support life and development from gametic (egg and sperm) fusion to death. Scientists have also discovered genes that cause many diseases and others that help restore and maintain health and yet others that need to be expressed at specific times throughout life to help maintain optimum health.

In any particular cell, not all of the 22,000 genes need to be active or expressed. Some of them are expressed in every cell. Those that play an important role in maintaining cellular viability, they act like house-keeping genes. Other genes are only expressed in some cells. These are the genes that determine whether a cell is going to be a liver cell or a heart cell or other and what function it has to perform. Therefore, for optimum biological or psychological function of an individual, or health, each of the different types of genes must be expressed at the correct level and at the right time. Serious diseases such as cancer can be caused if the wrong genes are expressed at any time or if some genes are over-expressed or under-expressed or if some of the genes are expressed at the wrong time. So, to maintain optimum health it is critical that gene expression is under tight control.

There are many internal and external factors, even including food components, thought processes, radiation, exercise, sound and many more, (now including homeopathic remediation) that impact on gene expression, therefore, to maintain optimum health, the body is continually striving to maintain optimum expression of thousands of genes in each cell. In this context, homeopathy may be considered as one of the ways of helping the body to organise optimum gene expression.

At this stage, I would like to introduce the study area of “homeogenetics”. This term is used to describe the future field of study investigating the interactive processes between the genetic blueprint and homeopathy. The study of homeogenetics is in keeping with the sciences of nutrigenetics and pharmacogenetics, terms which describe areas of study to do with interactions between food and drugs respectively with the genetic blueprint or genome. Because homeopathic remedies can affect gene expression as can many food components, one of the future areas of study planned by the Homeovitality Learning Centre involves investigations into the impact of foods on the effectiveness of homeopathic remediation.

Evolution of Micro-Immunotherapy.

So, how to develop a way of using homeopathic experiences to target specific health promoting genes? It has been done by combining the results of the use of homeopathic DNA, New Homeopathy (Micro-Immunotherapy) and the discovery of new properties of DNA, as outlined below.

As already stated, human DNA, the genetic blueprint, contains many genes that promote health as well as genes that cause disease. DNA is a well-established ingredient that is used to prepare a homeopathic remedy. Its use is included in Materia Medicas compiled by practitioners such as Dr O.A Julian and Phillip Robbins and others.

The DNA proving process confirms that homeopathic DNA, which may comprise whole genomic DNA from species such as fish, plants or cattle and of unknown sequence and molecular size, can activate genes that cause disease. With a view to increasing the specificity and safety of gene targeting by homeopathic DNA, Dr. Jenaer and Marichal pioneered the use of highly diluted small DNA molecules with well-defined sequences to target immune response genes and fight infections. Their system, called Micro-Immunotherapy proved to be very effective and specific.

Homeovitality Micro-DNA therapy.

The Homeovitality Micro-DNA therapeutic system, another extension of the use of homeopathic DNA, was developed to take advantage of new health care discoveries using the principles of homeopathy and Micro-Immunotherapy. It uses highly diluted DNA molecules with precise sequences to target genes, parts of the genetic blueprint that have been proven to promote and support health, correct disease and promote natural super-health.

The Homeovitality system is safe because, unlike homeopathic DNA, it cannot target parts of the genetic blueprint or genes that cause disease. In this context, even though it is simply a refinement of the use of homeopathic DNA, it is not strictly homeopathic because it cannot induce symptoms of disease in healthy subjects. It cannot cause aggravations in disease sufferers. It cannot be subject to the proving process.

It is also a refinement of the use of homeopathic DNA and Micro-Immunotherapy because it has the added advantage that it has been designed to target health promoting genes whose activity declines with age such as KL (4) and genes that promote natural super-health .

What is natural super-health?

Natural super-health also known as heterosis occurs in all organisms. It is the highest level of health that can be achieved naturally.

Scientists have been trying to determine for well over a hundred years how natural super-health is driven. It is now recognised that there are a number of ways. One of them involves a natural process that increases the expression of genes that play an important role in health promotion. It is not yet clear how increased expression of these super-health promoting genes is naturally brought about.

Even though farmers have been taking advantage of natural super-health to breed fitter and healthier crops and animals for thousands of years, it is only in the last decade or so that scientists have discovered that humans also enjoy the benefits of natural super-health. They are also beginning to discover some of the genes that promote different forms of natural super-health in humans. The Micro-DNA therapy system has also been designed to take these new health care discoveries into account.

The Homeovitality Micro-DNA therapy system also takes advantage of newly discovered properties of DNA. Scientists have recognised that DNA molecules have unusual telepathic properties, they can communicate with each other through sequence identity (6). They can also emit sequence specific electromagnetic signals at dilutions ranging from 10 -5 to 10 -12, the latter dilution being equivalent to 6C, the very dilution used exclusively in the Homeovitality Micro-DNA therapy system. The emitted electromagnetic signals can be recognised by DNA molecules with the same sequence (7).

Targeting DNA molecules.

So, what drives the Homeovitality Micro-DNA therapy system?

Each of the different Micro-DNA therapy products contains one or more DNA molecules, depending on the health promoting purpose of the product.

Each of the DNA molecules used to target specific health promoting genes is completely specific for and identical in sequence to a region of the protein producing part of the gene that they have been designed to target. The sequence of each product’s gene targeting DNA molecule/s has been verified by reference to the sequence of human DNA determined as part of the Human Genome Project. The sequence and quantitative details of each of the gene targeting DNA molecules are completely known so that the whole of the Micro-DNA therapy system is completely standardised and reproducible.

Safety perspectives.

Health care practitioners have questioned the safety of the Homeovitality Micro-DNA therapy system because it has the potential to alter gene expression. Many practitioners do not realise though that, as indicated above, homeopathic remedies and many environmental factors and food components are already re-arranging the genetic blueprint’s expression profile in a much less controlled way.

Compatibility of Micro-DNA therapy with homeopathy.

It is important for practitioners to understand that, in the interests of the community’s health, the Micro-DNA therapy system has been developed to provide further benefits to the community alongside the well-established system of homeopathy.

      Many thanks Dr. Malik.
Thank you for bringing this interesting work to my attention. The fact that an ethanol extract of nux vomica has been shown to have an effect on expression of the HB-EGF gene but not an aqueous extract of the same plant has important implications for the identification of specific gene targeting molecule/s in this remedy.

Interestingly, as strychnine is some 40 x more soluble in ethanol compared to water, it is possible that it is strychnine that it is the HB-EGF gene targeting molecule in nux vomica because nux vomica contains strychnine.. It would be very interesting therefore to compare properties such as the provings of homeopathic strychnine with nux vomica. It would be an interesting investigative exercise for someone to do.

There are many such simple investigations that can be carried out to identify potential homeopathic gene targeting molecules.

“All products only 20.99 pounds.” Such reads the advertisement on the Homeovitality website. I point this out so you can realize that the above article is an INFOMERCIAL. It’s there to sell product and make money. Think about all the years Hahnemann worked on his ideas before publishing. Think about how long he researched his idea of chronic diseases before writing about it.
Yes, it may be that homoepathic remedies influence gene expression, but according to epigenetics, many factors influence gene expression, including what your parents ate before you were born. The idea that you find the thread of an idea and then start marketing it, before you really understand what it is, is not science, but commerce.

There are many attempts today to find quick, easy, ways to use homeopathy. I suppose anything that doesn’t require years of study and practice seems enticing. Let the buyer beware.

      Reply to Alan V Schmukler.

Thank you Alan V Schmukler for your comment.

It has taken many years of investigation to develop the Micro-DNA therapy system.

I understand the subject area of epigenetics more than most as I have published many articles in international peer reviewed scientific journals on this subject matter over many years. If you wish, I will send you a copy of my academic C.V. for verification.

The Micro-DNA therapy system has been developed using sound scientific principles, in contrast to many different forms of alternative and complementary health care systems, to ensure health care is delivered in a standardised, completely reproducible and importantly, safe manner,

May I remind you that it is the responsibility of a professional health care practitioner to enable all that come to him or her for help to have the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of all forms of remediation that are available to them. Fortunately, there are now many health care practitioners, including homeopaths worldwide as well as medically qualified practitioners who are providing the benefits of Micro-DNA therapy to their patients

You statement re commerciality is completely unfounded. There is absolutely no reference to Homeovitality Co. Ltd. UK. whatsoever in the main text. To consider this article as commercial is unwarranted.

There are many issues that need to be addressed as a consequence of your post. Because you failed to comment effectively on the general content of the article, and space does not permit an appropriate discussion here, I would be grateful if you would enter into an informative discussion of the content of this article in the open Facebook group Homeopathy For All. I and others would welcome the opportunity for an open informative discussion with you. It would be helpful for the practice in general. I look forward to your positive reply.
